Educators contribute to the profession.
How I met Standard 8 in my 490 practicum:
In week 2, I sought the opportunity to learn about CSL and parent assessment.
I was willing to assist others in the school during my time.
Supervision duties
Tweets to share ideas and collaborate with other educators across the globe.
Original lesson ideas were developed and shared with others, such as the Covid friendly buddies letters.
I also utilized my online presence to share my interesting and unique lesson ideas with other educators. I shared FIPPA friendly photos of my lessons and my lesson results on twitter, in order to help other educators with lesson ideas! I made a lot of connections through doing this and felt I contributed to the profession in a small way by doing this consistently.
How I met Standard 8 in my 491 practicum:
ideas, collaborate with other educaotrs, and participate in learning opportunities such as the BCED chat. Outside out twitter, I assisted and shared resources with other teacher candidates and connected regularly with my Triad and cohort! My Triad and I would discuss to share ideas and brainstorm! I even supported cohort members by sharing my Valentine’s Day lesson idea.
I contributed and shared during the school-based team meetings to help support my students. I was also actively involved in IEP meetings to discuss student progress. All of this resulted in my contributing to the success of my students and classroom!
I also sought out other educators to observe in their classrooms. This allowed me to share my ideas and discuss ideas with other classrooms. I was complimented multiple times on my “fresh eyes” that would come up with new and engaging ideas for every class I visited. I sought these opportunities to work with other educators to offer idea/share ideas. One example is when I gave other teachers ideas for PE games (collaborated with grade 7 teacher as he wanted to try my flashlight games).
I also offered assistance in the school. One day, MRS BONIN was sick so I told the principal I could run the SOGI club at lunch (so it could still happen). This allowed the SOGI to continue as scheduled and resulted in my leading the club fore the day. This allowed me to connect further with the SOGI club students and show my contribution to the school culture and community.
